
" I attended Sara’s Create Health & Hope workshop as my employer (Prior’s Court Foundation/ School) was offering them to all staff and I thought they might be interesting as I have Fibromyalgia and to be honest I’ve tried everything else so why not listen and see if I could learn anything new. It turned out to be a total eyeopener for me, it helped me to see, for the first time all the different aspects of my life in relation to my health very clearly.
Like most people, I always knew that certain aspects of my life impacted my health as there is enough information out there to make it almost impossible to be totally ignorant of this fact; for example how mental health links to overall health, but seeing things all laid out together on paper before me was astonishing.
The Picture of Health exercise was so quick and easy to complete, yet it focussed in on all of the different aspects of my life and how they inextricably linked to my overall health and wellbeing. I knew I was tired, it is part of my condition, but my energy score was zero, and it enabled me to look at my health from a totally different perspective. I could see what I needed to do to improve, none of which seemed difficult or unachievable. I immediately made some easy and quite small changes…
…over the next 3 weeks I started to noticed that I wasn’t so tired at the end of each day, I had more clarity in my thought process, I was losing weight despite not going back to my harsh exercise/diet regimes and I just generally felt better in myself.
